The Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia is pleased to announce the appointment of Maheswari Kanniah to its Board of Directors, effective 15 May 2020.
Maheswari brings with her more than 19 years of experience in compliance, regulatory, governance, ethics, fraud investigation and risk management functions from the commercial banking, investment banking, futures, securities, asset management and private equity industries. She also has more than 23 years of experience in company secretarial functions for a listed company.
“The subject of innovation in learning, training and development has always been closest to my heart and I hope that I would be able to complement and contribute from a practitioners point of view to the Institute’s existing business plan and strategy in this digital era of the new normal,” said Maheswari.
Maheswari is currently the Executive Director and Group Chief Regulatory and Compliance Officer of Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad (‘KIBB’), a role that reports directly to the Board of Directors and has served in the position since November 2016. She is a Chartered Governance Professional and a Certified Fraud Examiner (‘CFE’) by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiner (‘ACFE’), United States. She is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, United Kingdom as well as the Malaysian Association of the Institute of the Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (‘MAICSA’).
