The ICDM Pulse: Balancing & Rebalancing Boardroom Priorities
This year started with a flurry of activity, as we recently celebrated our Aspiring Directors Immersion Programme (ADIP) graduates and hosted a BNRC dialogue session on cultivating future board leaders. We take pride in acknowledging the dedication and achievements of our ADIP graduates, who have embraced directorship competencies and positioned themselves for future board roles with enhanced recognition, confidence, and promising prospects. We also thank our esteemed panellists and participants for sharing their insights and experiences with soon-to-be or first-time directors and on promoting greater board diversity and inclusion. Download the key insights from the dialogue here.
I am also pleased to announce the upcoming launch of the 2024 ASEAN Board Trends Report and the ASEAN Directors Registry on Thursday, 22 February 2024 that aims to enhance leadership diversity, encouraging sound corporate governance practices, and offering a diverse pool of directors from companies across the region. Register for the virtual launch and panel dialogue session here.
The 2024 ASEAN Board Trends Report is the result of a comprehensive survey conducted by ICDM in collaboration with our ASEAN partners under the ASEAN IOD Network initiative that is intended to seek better understanding of what’s in it for ASEAN boards for the upcoming two years – the challenges and opportunities ahead, emerging areas that impact the boardroom and how they can set their priorities and expectations right. The report will provide valuable insights and recommendations on how to improve board effectiveness, innovation, sustainability, risk management, and stakeholder engagement in the region.
The ASEAN Directors Registry is a platform that facilitates the identification, nomination, and appointment of qualified and diverse directors across ASEAN companies and beyond. It also serves as a resource for directors to access relevant information, training, and networking opportunities to enhance their skills and competencies.
These two initiatives reflect our commitment to advancing the standards and practices of corporate governance in ASEAN and supporting our members and partners in achieving their strategic goals. We hope that you will find them beneficial for your board and company.
